Our Vision for Our Vision Suite

Culmore Clinic is delighted to be working with two accomplished ophthalmologists, and an experienced optometrist on building out a vision suite for Culmore Clinic. Vision and eye health are linked with overall health. Good vision is essential to successful vocational and academic performance. Additionally, eye diseases can be a consequence of chronic disease. For example, diabetes (and its complication diabetic retinopathy) is the leading cause of blindness among working age adults age 20-70. Many Culmore Clinic patients are either pre-diabetic, or already have the diagnosis.

We have the perfect space to add this much needed service for our community. What we lack is the equipment to move this forward.

We have been diligently working with various community partners who have been exceptionally generous with their time, resources and wisdom in collecting the needed equipment.

A special thank you to Prevention of Blindness, Lion’s Club Members, My Eye Doctor, and All Eyes On Rockville for their invaluable assistance and generosity in helping us narrow our need list.

If you’d like to help us get this important health service off the ground, we need of about $25,000 for new equipment. Gently used equipment provided in-kind is also welcome. Check out the list for items we still need and thank you!
