Open House and Open Hearts

Our Annual Open House was paired with a 10 year anniversary celebration of nonprofit status as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony for our recently completed Vision Suite (link to Vision Suite blog). Nearly 100 people joined us over two days at The Clinic to mix and mingle, enjoy delicious food and drink, meet our Board Members, staff and volunteers, and take tours of our expanded operations and new exam rooms. It was a smash success.

Decorations and food were beautifully arranged by Events Sub-Committee members Terry O’Hara Lavoie, Claudia Wicks, Fran Sienkiewicz, and Jasmine Williams. Thanks to their hard work, the space looked warm and inviting for our guests and all details were accounted for to ensure a smooth event.

Board Members, volunteers, staff, donors and friends and neighbors had the chance to enjoy the food and drinks and catch up before the welcome remarks and tours.

Lynette Sappe-Watkins, Executive Director, Rev. Stephen Moore, First Christian Church of Fall Church, Philip Elliot, Board of Directors President, and Maria Obeid, Clinic Director all gave beautiful welcome speeches and spoke more in details about the services Culmore Clinic provides. You can read Lynette’s speech here.

Philip Eliot also introduced Dr. George Patterson, Volunteer Ophthalmologist, to do the ribbon cutting for the new Vision Suite. Learn more and see more photos here of the Ribbon Cutting ceremony and the Vision Suite here.

Tours of The Clinic were then led by Board Members and Staff. Guests got to see our new exam rooms, recently added thanks to a donation of partitions which have expanded the number of patients we can see throughout the day.
