Grateful for a Grateful Volunteer

Below is a beautiful letter of gratitude written by a recent volunteer Medical Assistant who has since transferred out of the area. She sent this letter to our Clinic Director, Maria Obeid, DNP, to express her thanks for all she learned during her time volunteering at Culmore Clinic. We are immensely grateful for her, her work, her time, her constant smile, and of course, this lovely note…

Hi Maria,

When I graduated from college, I was still unsure of what direction I wanted to go, but being part of Culmore and working with the clinical team who are so dedicated to a life of service has played a significant role in shaping my path—not only toward healthcare, but also in my personal growth. I am sure directing a clinic cannot be easy at times, but seeing you invest your years of training, clinical judgment, and care into the well being of the Culmore community is deeply admirable and has shown me just how meaningful and valued the work you all do truly is.

Thank you for being such a wonderful clinical supervisor and for giving me the flexibility and opportunity to learn so much during my time at Culmore Clinic.

I hope to return to Culmore in the future, and I hope we can keep in touch along the way. I will certainly continue telling other students and providers about this clinic :)

Best,

A grateful volunteer
