A Home for Healing
Our Capital Campaign Goes Public, with the Finish Line in Sight
Since its founding in 2007, Culmore Clinic has operated out of seven different locations. Relying on borrowed space has meant ongoing instability. We are proud to announce that we have launched A Home for Healing, a $2 million capital campaign to build our first permanent clinic.
"Culmore Clinic bears witness that the least of us will not be forgotten."
— Fr. Andrew Merrow, Campaign Co-Chair
The new clinic will occupy the ground floor of Kindred Crossing, an affordable senior housing community that Wesley Housing is building next to our former location at First Christian Falls Church. Wesley Housing is providing 4717 square feet of space; the campaign funds the buildout. Groundbreaking is planned for late fall 2026, with a ribbon cutting expected in summer 2028.
The need is growing. In the past three years, the clinic has gone from serving 350 patients a year to almost 1,000. The new space will give us:
75% more provider appointments each year
A dedicated counseling room for behavioral health
Private telehealth rooms for our patients and Wesley Housing residents
Running water in every exam room, and a room where nurses can review medications with patients
During the campaign's quiet phase, early supporters pledged more than $1.9 million. That includes lead gifts of $500,000 from The J.O.Y. Charitable Fund and $100,000 from St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Arlington, plus a $550,000 Congressionally Directed Spending award secured with the help of U.S. Senator Mark Warner. We're grateful to every one of them. Now we're asking the whole community to help us finish.
Gifts of every size count toward the goal. You can give by check, credit card, donor-advised fund, securities, or IRA required minimum distribution. For questions or help with a gift, contact Rachel James-Kelley at RachelJ@CulmoreClinic.org or 571-380-4163.
