Cynda Tipple, Philip Eliot, Jonathan Engler, Andrés Jimenez, and Terry O’Hara Lavoie* named to Culmore Clinic Board of Directors

Culmore Clinic is pleased to formally announce that Cynda Tipple, Philip Eliot, Jonathan Engler, Terry O’Hara Lavoie, and Andrés Jimenez* have been elected to the Culmore Clinic Board of Directors.
The Rev Andrew T.P. Merrow, Rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and President of the Culmore Clinic Board of Directors praised the selection of this group: “Each of these newly elected members of the Board brings specific gifts and deep commitment to ensuring that everyone in the Culmore community has access to high-quality health care." Anne-Lise Quinn, Culmore Clinic’s Executive Director added, “I am delighted to be working with our new Board Directors and the rest of the Culmore Clinic Board as we build our capacity to reduce inequities and provide compassionate, hi-quality primary care to a community so disproportionately affected by the COVID pandemic.”
In addition to electing new directors, the Culmore Clinic Board established a Young Professionals Committee (YPC), a non-voting advisory committee of the Board whose mission it is to work with the Board of Directors to promote Culmore Clinic's mission among students, recent graduates, and those early in their careers. The YPC identifies opportunities to attract and appeal to a 18-30-year-old, diverse demographic and serves as a think tank for new and emerging trends in medicine, community health, communications, social media, and technology. Meet the New Members
Cynda M. Tipple, LFACHE
Cynda Tipple, a Lifetime Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, serves as faculty in the graduate Health Care management Program at Marymount University School of Business and Technology and is a Visiting Professor and Director of Assessment and Accreditation at the University. Cynda has served as Vice President for Hospice Center Operations at Capital Caring and as Chief Operating Officer of Novant Prince William Medical Center. She is a parishioner at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Philip Eliot
Philip Eliot is a capital investor focused on early-stage technology companies. In 2018, Philip founded Reflection Ventures, an investment and advisory firm that works with companies and funds focused on solutions to social challenges such as climate change, lack of access to affordable healthcare, and barriers to upward socioeconomic mobility. Philip has served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations and is currently a board member and the Treasurer of LearnServe, an organization which provides social entrepreneurship programs for high-school students and is a member of the finance committee of St. Mary’s Episcopal church.
Jonathan J. Engler, Esq
Jonathan Engler is a partner with Adduci, Mastriani & Shaumberg LLC and represents foreign and domestic high technology companies in patent, trademark, and trade secret litigation before Administrative Law Judges at the US International Trade Commission. Jonathan is a member of the of Beth Sholom Congregation and is also the lay head of the Potomac Friends of Torah ve Ahava, a local organization dedicated to a more open and inclusive approach to traditional Judaism.
Andrés Jimenez
Andrés Jimenez is Executive Director of Green 2.0, a nonprofit dedicated to improving representation for people of color within the environmental community by encouraging accountability and sparking change within individual organizations and the movement at large. Andrés comes to Green 2.0 and the Culmore Clinic Board with years of political and legislative experience across multiple issues including immigration, environmental conservation, consumer affairs, homeland security, and technology. A Mason District resident in Fairfax County, Andrés is a Fairfax County Planning Commissioner and was appointed in 2020. He serves on multiple nonprofit boards and task forces. Andrés is a parishioner at St. Agnes Catholic Church
Terry O’Hara Lavoie
Terry O’Hara Lavoie is co-founder of Culmore Clinic and returns to the Board of Directors after stepping down to serve as the Clinic’s Interim Executive Director then as Clinical Director as the organization transitioned to the appointment of Anne-Lise Quinn as Executive Director in February 2020 and Barbara Weingold, RN as Clinical Director in November 2020. While co-founding Culmore Clinic in 2007, Terry served as Director of Survivors’ Fund, $25-million-dollar charity designed for the victims of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon. She has been an active volunteer in Fairfax County, serving as a tutor in the Bailey’s Crossroads Community Shelter, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and has held volunteer leadership roles with the Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP). She is a parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
